Clean Energy States Alliance (CESA) has been working with several CESA members over the past four months to develop and launch an innovative collaboration between state wind incentive programs and related organizations to tackle technical and market-based challenges for distributed wind. To date, the members of the new Interstate Turbine Advisory Council (ITAC) include Energy Trust of Oregon, the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority, the California Energy Commission, the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities, Office of Clean Energy, Nevada Energy, and the Massachusetts Clean Energy Center.

The founding members of ITAC are in the process of creating a unified list of small and mid-sized wind turbines that fit the performance, durability and customer experience expectations of their programs. This project will reduce market confusion and inefficiency by condensing the many state-level eligible wind turbine lists into a single resource. Instead of evaluating wind turbines individually on a state-by-state basis, participating programs are pooling knowledge, field data, and resources to develop the improved, central list.
