Clean Energy Finance and Investment Authority
Effective July 1, 2011, the Connecticut Clean Energy Fund became part of the newly created Clean Energy Finance and Investment Authority (CEFIA). CEFIA’s mission is to promote, develop and invest in clean energy and energy efficiency projects in order to strengthen Connecticut’s economy, protect community health, improve the environment, and promote a secure energy supply for the state. As the nation’s first full-scale clean energy finance authority, CEFIA will leverage public and private funds to drive investment and scale-up clean energy deployment in Connecticut.
CEFIA was created by Connecticut’s General Assembly as a part of Public Act 11-80 An Act Concerning the Establishment of the Department of Energy and Environmental Protection and Planning for Connecticut’s Energy Future. This major legislation sets Connecticut on a new and exciting course toward energy independence. Over the next several months, CEFIA’s board of directors will begin crafting new financing and investment opportunities that will enable the deployment of low-cost capital for clean energy and energy efficiency projects.
Additionally, CCEF Board of Director and Board committee meetings are cancelled. As soon as the CEFIA Board of Directors is appointed and has approved a meeting schedule, it will be posted to the Web. Please continue to check the home page at www.ctcleanenergy.com for announcements relating to CEFIA.
